The Department of Health & Aged Care (DoHAC) published the first version of the Support at Home (S@H) Program Manual on 7 March 2025. Weighing in at 209 pages, it provides more detail on how the new program will operate, however there is still a decent amount to be confirmed. I've summarized the key takeaways below.
Key Takeaways for Allied Health Professionals
Providers will have 28 days to complete a care plan and budget with participants.
Different levels of documentation is required for ATHM depending on the risk level i.e. low, medium and high. For successful claims, confirmation of delivery will be required for AT-HM claims.
If funding is insufficient i.e. for Allied Health, providers can refer for a Support Plan Review or use HCP unspent funds.
Support at Home Manual Update AT and HM funding will be separate and a maximum tier cap, but high-cost requests may be approved with sufficient supporting documentation (e.g., prescription, quote, justification).
Providers will have to claim coordination costs (known as wrap around costs) from the participant’s AT-HM budget. They are capped at 15% of the quoted cost or up to $1,500 (whichever is lower).
